A list of cold Weather Shelters 

There is a Freeze Warning in effect for much of the Treasure Coast this (Wednesday) evening….In addition, a wind chill advisory as well as advisories for coastal flooding and high surf….

A shelter will be open at the His Place Ministries in Melbourne. The shelter opens at 8 p.m. Wednesday and closes at 7 a.m. tomorrow.  Dinner and breakfast will be served.

In Indian River County, The Source opens at 9 p.m. on Wednesday and will be open through at least 6 p.m. on Friday.  Those planning to stay the night should arrive by 10 p.m..

In St. Lucie County the Image of Christ on 7th street in Ft. Pierce is open through Friday, possibly longer, for anybody who needs shelter from the cold.  That shelter opened Tuesday evening.

The American Red Cross will have shelters Wednesday and Thursday 7 p.m. through 7 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Clubs in Indiantown and the Gertrude Walden Child Care Center in Stuart.

In Okeechobee County the American Red Cross will open a shelter at the Douglas Brown Community center in Okeechobee beginning at 7:00 Wednesday

 evening.  Anyone planning to spend the night should arrive by 10 p.m..
